Welcome to my professional home on the web!
I am an Assistant Professor of Qualitative Communication Inquiry in the Department of Communication at SUNY New Paltz. My research and teaching interests center around the dynamics of everyday talk. More specifically, I use qualitative methods to examine the situated communication practices that construct identities and relationships in a variety of ordinary and professional settings. My background lies in the subfields of Language and Social Interaction (LSI) and Interpersonal Communication, though my work often leads me to explore intersections with a range of disciplinary foci such as technology, organizations, and health, among others.
